| The Junkers Ju 52/3m had a short career with British European Airways in 1946 and 1947.
Ten Ju 52/3m.g8 were captured after the end of war and rebuild by Shorts Brothers at Belfast for the use by B.E.A.
According to Jackson (1960) "The first Ju 52/3m servive, from Croydon to Nutts Corner via Speke, was flown on November 18, 1946 after which they also operated to Nutts Corner non-stop and on the Scottish services from Renfrew and Prestwick to the Orkneys, Shetlands, Inverness and Nutts Corner."
At the end of 1947 the JU 52 were replaced by Douglas C-47 Dakotas ("DC-3s"). All JU 52 were scrapped in 1948.
Smith (1967) and Jackson (1960/1974 ) list the following 10 registrations of aircraft which were in service by British Europaen Airways.
Jackson (1960) additionally lists G-AHBP which was granted a restricted C.of.A. for test and freight duties, but was used mainly for crew training.
